Job or Vacancy Description:

Group – D : 1230 posts in various trades (UR-479, OBC-256, SC-142, ST-71, PH-36, ExSM-246) in various categories 

pay scale : Rs. 5200 – 20200 Grade Pay Rs. 1800, 

Age : 18-33 years as on 01/01/2014.

EXAMINATION FEES :

1 The examination fee for UR and OBC candidates is Rs.100 (Rupees One hundred only). Candidates belonging to SC/ST, Physically Handicapped, women, minorities, ex- serviceman and economically backward classes are exempted from payment of examination fees.

2 The examination fees shall be paid in the form of Indian Postal Order from any Post office drawn in favour of FA&CAO, N.F. Railway and payable at GPO, Guwahati

3 Applications received with cash/cheque /Central Recruitment Stamps and money orders will be rejected and amount forfeited.
4 Postal Orders issued before the date of issue of Employment Notice will not be accepted and such application form will be rejected and amount forfeited.

5 The candidates are advised to write their names and addresses on the backside of the IPO and enclose it with the application form. The details of examination fee may be written in application form. Examination fee is not refundable in any circumstances.

How to Apply : Application for the above posts in the prescribed format should be send to  Chairman, Railway Recruitment  Cell (RRC), Station Colony, Pan Bazar, Guwahati, Assam – 781001  on or before 21/10/2013 only through ordinary post.

General Instructions:

1. Visually impaired Candidates / those candidates whose writing speed is affected by Cerebral Palsy can avail the assistance of a Scribe for writing answers on their behalf. For this purpose they will have to suitably inform RRC/NFR in advance as per (c) below.

2. The candidates as well as the Scribe will have to give an undertaking (format at Annexure – V) confirming that the Scribe fulfills all the stipulated eligibility criteria for the Scribe. In case it transpires later that he/she did not fulfill any of the laid down eligibility criteria or there has been suppression of material facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled irrespective of the result of the examination.

3. The scribe will not make any gesture, sound or any other forms of communication designed to indicate to the candidate the correctness or otherwise of an answer being recorded by him.

4. This employment notice contains vacancies reserved for Ex-servicemen irrespective of their community.  ‘Ex-serviceman’ means a person, who has served in any rank (whether as a combatant or as a non-combatant) in the regular Army, Navy or Air Force of the Indian Union but does not include a person who has served in the Defence Security Corps, the General Reserve Engineering Force,

5. Ex-servicemen candidates who have already secured employment under the Ex. Servicemen quota in Central Govt. in Gr-D will be only given age relaxation but will not be considered under ex. Servicemen quota. Candidates should carefully read the instructions in this Employment Notice for filling up Application Form given at Annexure-I.

6. Candidates should mention “Applications for Gr. D posts, Northeast Frontier Railway” on the top of the envelope containing the application. Each cover should contain one application only. In case more than one application is sent in one cover or other way, all such applications will be rejected.

7.  In column No.4 please tick in appropriate box (Male/Female). In column no.5, candidates should indicate his/her religion by writing the appropriate code as given below: Religion Hindu Muslim Sikh Christian Buddhist Jain Parsi Others

8.  Candidates should write Correspondence Address in Column No.10 in Block legible letters complete with name of state/UT and PIN code. The dimension of this column is 8cm x 4cm.

About the organization:
The Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway has its historical roots in the former Assam Railways & Trading Company, Assam Bengal Railways, and Eastern Bengal Railways. The Assam Bengal Railways had the largest contribution to make in the formation of the present-day N. F. Railway.Assam Railway P. Trading Company laid the first Railway line in Assam upto Makum collieries at Margherita in 1884. The Company also established the first passenger Railway system in Assam under the name Dibru Sadiya Railway. The Eastern Bengal Railway constructed the sections Haldibari – Siliguri, Barsoi – Kishanganj, Manihari – Katihar- Kasaba and opened these sometime before 1900. They expanded the network to other sections namely, Hasimara – Alipurduar, Gitaldaha Bamanhat, Golakganj – Amingaon, Rangiya – Rangapara & Dhubri during the period 1900-1911.
