Essence of the Job / Job Purpose:
Participates in the planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's databases. Under general guidance and/or utilizing existing tools and templates, performs moderately complex server-class database activities including one or more of the following: troubleshooting, maintenance and production support; performance monitoring and tuning; assisting with logical/physical database design and creation; basic programming and coding to automate and/or support the database environment; configuring and testing for database installations and migrations; back-up and recovery activities; and assisting with gathering business requirements and database metrics for further analysis. May participate in projects as a coordinator or in a support capacity.
2+ years experience in database design and administration.
Job Description
2 to 5 years experience with Teradata database administration in a production support environment
Database Version 13 and 13.10
Backup and Recovery ( Preferably using Netvault/ Netbackup)
Exposure to Load utilities like TPUMP, FastLoad, FastExport, MLOAD.
Database Security configuration and implementation
Locks and blocking sessions.
Exposure to TASM ,PMCP or PDCR,DBQL, PMON and Viewpoint
Hand on experience Performance tuning
Preferably Knowledge on Data Modeling tool
May have to work in shifts and /or off-hours, if and when required.
